Sometimes, as leaders, we get caught up in the day to day grind. I came across this presentation and thought it was a good refresher - take s a minute or two to load but worth the effort.

Do you see a difference with Gen y and their leadership skills?
on Leadership Gen Y's biggest challenge, as I see it, is relating - on a real person to person level - interacting and getting to the mentoring / coaching level, that takes patience. I've witnessed many Gen Yers that don't have the patience, the ones I've worked with seem to think that leadership means someone following your direction, many believe that the individuals you lead should have the ability to just get things done.
Leadership takes a lot of consistent effort, you have to relate to individuals, put time in and see / bring out the best in them. Haven't seen an abundance of patience for that from this group - in general.
